Your Journey Day by Day

Day 01

Arrival in Negombo

Step off the plane and into tropical warmth as Sri Lanka opens its arms. Your driver meets you at the airport and whisks you to coastal Negombo, a perfect first taste of the island. Relax by the beach, order a fresh king coconut and breathe in the salt air before the magnificent adventure that begins tomorrow.

Day 02

Wilpattu Jeep Safari

Drive deep into the pristine wilderness of Wilpattu National Park for an afternoon jeep safari through Sri Lanka’s largest wildlife reserve. Leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles and elephants share this ancient forest of lakes and dense jungle. The thrill of spotting Sri Lanka’s most elusive predator in its natural habitat never grows old.

Day 03

Wilpattu Morning Safari & Anuradhapura

Dawn in the wild, one final morning safari through Wilpattu’s shimmering villus before heading south to the ancient capital of Anuradhapura. Walk among 2,500-year-old sacred sites – the Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanweliseya and Jetavanaramaya, where pilgrims, monks and history converge in a single unforgettable afternoon.

Day 04

Sigiriya Fortress & Dambulla

Climb the vertical flanks of Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of the world’s most dramatic ancient monuments – past mirror walls and guardian lions to a summit with panoramic jungle views. By evening, the sacred golden caves of Dambulla shimmer with candlelight and centuries of artistry. Today, Sri Lanka’s ancient soul reveals itself completely.

Day 05

Village Tour & Kandy

A morning of joyful rural immersion – bullock carts, canoe rides and home-cooked village lunch before reaching the cultural capital of Kandy. Watch the city from the iconic Kandy View Point, drift across the lake on a sunset boat cruise, then witness the electrifying Kandyan cultural dance show before the sacred Temple of the Tooth.

Day 06

Tea Country & Nuwara Eliya

Ascend into misty tea country, where the hillsides are carpeted in emerald green as far as the eye can see. Visit a working tea estate and watch master tasters assess the day’s crop with extraordinary precision. Explore Gregory Lake by horse ride or boat and wander the colonial-era streets of charming, chilly Nuwara Eliya.

Day 07

Train to Ella & Adventure Activities

Ride the iconic hill country train through a visual feast of waterfalls, tunnels and mist-draped valleys to reach the adventure capital of Ella. Visit the Nine Arch Bridge and dramatic Ravana Falls before choosing your adrenaline hit – abseiling off cliff faces, zip-lining through the jungle canopy or quad biking on mountain trails.

Day 08

Ella Hike & Arugam Bay

Hike Little Adam’s Peak in the cool morning hours for sweeping valley panoramas, then enjoy a tea tasting session before transferring east to Arugam Bay. The journey crosses diverse terrain as the landscape shifts from misty hills to sun-baked coastal scrub. Arrive to golden sands, laid-back vibes and surfing adventures ahead.

Day 09

Surf & Sunset at Arugam Bay

Arugam Bay is a surfer’s paradise and today is entirely devoted to its pleasures. Professional surf instructors guide you through the waves, while the afternoon belongs to beach volleyball, fresh coconut and socialising with travellers from around the globe. Elephant Rock at sunset delivers a final breathtaking view over the Indian Ocean.

Day 10

Kumana National Park Safari

Journey to the remote Kumana National Park, a lesser-visited jewel of Sri Lanka’s wild east, teeming with incredible birdlife. Hundreds of species inhabit this coastal wetland, alongside crocodiles, deer and elephants. Returning to Arugam Bay in the late afternoon, the beach and a spectacular east coast sunset await once more.

Day 11

Yala Leopard Safari

Transfer south to the legendary Yala National Park, home to one of the world’s highest concentrations of wild leopards. An afternoon safari ventures deep into the scrub, searching for Sri Lanka’s spotted stars against ancient rock faces and waterhole reflections. Elephants, crocodiles and technicolour birds complete the wildlife scene.

Day 12

Galle Fort & Southern Beaches

Coastal Sri Lanka unfolds in all its glory as you reach the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, a 17th-century Dutch colonial city entirely intact. Walk ramparts above crashing waves, discover artisan boutiques and award-winning cafes. Unawatuna and Jungle Beach provide golden afternoon relaxation before a seafood dinner above the southern surf.

Day 13

Colombo City Tour

Sri Lanka’s vibrant modern capital offers a colourful final chapter, the red onion domes of the Grand Mosque, the golden spires of Gangaramaya Temple, and the breezy lawns of Galle Face Green. Shop for cinnamon, gems and handicrafts at the boutiques around Independence Square before your final evening dinner and farewell.

Day 14

Departure

The island releases you gently, with warmth and no small amount of wonder at how much beauty, history, wildlife and adventure one small island can hold. Your airport transfer departs for Bandaranaike International Airport – take your seat, close your eyes and smile. Sri Lanka has given you memories no photograph can fully capture.
