Your Journey Day by Day

Day 01

Arrival & Negombo

Touch down in Colombo and ease into the rhythm of Sri Lanka. Your private transfer whisks you north to the coastal town of Negombo, where salt air, swaying palms and a languid beachside atmosphere set the perfect tone. Stroll the shoreline, watch the fishing boats drift in at dusk and let the island welcome you gently.

Day 02

Wilpattu National Park

Journey north into the ancient wilderness of Wilpattu, Sri Lanka’s largest national park. As the afternoon sun dips, board a rugged jeep and venture through leopard country – dense forests, shimmering villus and winding tracks where sloth bears and spotted deer emerge from the shadows. The wild calls and you answer.

Day 03

Wilpattu Morning Safari & Anuradhapura

Rise before dawn for one last encounter with Wilpattu’s elusive residents in the magical morning mist. Then drive south into the ancient capital of Anuradhapura, where sacred Bodhi trees, colossal white dagobas and the whispers of a 2,500-year civilisation surround you at every turn. History becomes wonderfully, vividly alive.

Day 04

Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Dambulla Cave Temple

Ascend the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 5th-century royal citadel rising dramatically from the jungle plains below. Marvel at ancient frescoes, mirror walls and manicured water gardens. By evening, descend into the golden candlelit world of Dambulla’s cave temples, where centuries of devotion are painted across every surface.

Day 05

Village Life & Kandy

Slow down and savour the heart of rural Sri Lanka – trundle through paddy fields on a bullock cart, drift across a glassy lake by canoe and share a home-cooked lunch with a local family. By afternoon, arrive in the hill capital of Kandy for a spellbinding evening of Kandyan drumming and fire dancing.

Day 06

Tea Country & Nuwara Eliya

Wind through emerald hillsides as the landscape transforms into a tapestry of neatly manicured tea estates. Visit a working plantation to learn the art of Ceylon tea production from leaf to cup. Stroll the colonial boulevards of Nuwara Eliya, dubbed ‘Little England’, and breathe in the crisp mountain air.

Day 07

Scenic Train to Ella

Board one of the world’s most celebrated rail journeys, weaving through misty mountains, tumbling waterfalls and terraced tea plantations from Nanu Oya to Ella. Arriving like a dream, visit the iconic Nine Arch Bridge and majestic Ravana Falls. The adventurous may try abseiling; others sip tea at a breezy hilltop cafe.

Day 08

Ella to Arugam Bay

Begin the day with an invigorating early hike up Little Adam’s Peak as clouds part to reveal sweeping views of the valley. Then transfer east through spectacular changing terrain to Arugam Bay, the world-famous surf haven on Sri Lanka’s east coast. Arrive at Golden Sands, a laid-back village vibe and the sound of waves.

Day 09

Arugam Bay Leisure & Surf

A blissful day dedicated entirely to the beach. Try your first surfing lesson on the warm rolling waves, explore the coves and rocky outcrops dotting the bay and as the sun begins to sink, climb Elephant Rock for a panoramic sunset that turns the entire ocean amber. Evening is yours to enjoy freely.

 Day 10

Kumana National Park

Venture into the lesser-visited Kumana National Park, a jewel of Sri Lanka’s wild east. This coastal wilderness is home to concentrations of migratory and resident birds – herons, storks, painted storks and spoonbills – alongside crocodiles, elephants and deer. A paradise for nature lovers and wildlife photographers alike.

Day 11

Yala National Park

Transfer south to Yala, Sri Lanka’s most celebrated wildlife reserve, home to one of the world’s highest densities of wild leopards. An afternoon safari takes you deep into the scrub jungle in search of Sri Lanka’s iconic spots – elephants, crocodiles, sloth bears and colourful birdlife among the ancient lagoons.

Day 12

Galle Fort & Southern Coast

Drive along the shimmering southern coastline to the magnificent walled city of Galle. Wander the Dutch colonial fort, trace the ancient ramparts above the crashing sea and explore its boutique cafes, art galleries and lace-makers. The afternoon is yours to sink into the golden sands of Unawatuna or Jungle Beach.

Day 13

Colombo City Tour

Spend a vibrant final day exploring Sri Lanka’s dynamic capital. Walk the seaside promenade of Galle Face Green, admire the ornate Gangaramaya Temple and the striking Red Mosque and browse Independence Square’s boutiques. Shop for handcrafted gifts, taste street food and soak in the city’s infectious energy before your last night.

Day 14

Departure

After a nourishing final breakfast, your private transfer takes you to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward flight home. You leave carrying not just luggage, but a treasure chest of memories – ancient cities, misty mountains, wild safaris and sun-warmed shores – every mile an unforgettable chapter of Sri Lanka.
